Es sind bereits zwei (!) Jahre vergangen, seit Miu Mius allgegenwärtiger, hüftlanger Mikro-Minirock auf dem Laufsteg der Frühjahrskollektion 2022 debütierte (die Zeit ist eine flache Kreis, Leute) – und dennoch gibt das italienische Modehaus die Silhouette noch nicht auf. Das wurde nach einer bemerkenswert retrohaften Präsentation für den Frühling 2024 deutlich, die am Dienstag, dem letzten Tag der Pariser Fashion Week, stattfand. Es ist so retro, dass Millennials möglicherweise sogar ihre Augen schützen wollen.
Das liegt daran, dass es in dieser Saison den Anschein hat, als hätten sich Miuccia Prada und das Kreativteam von Miu Miu für Inspiration in den Archiven von Abercrombie & Fitch aus den Nullerjahren umgeschaut. Ja, Mikro-Minis sind in dieser Kollektion immer noch vorhanden, genauso wie im Y2K-Zeitalter, aber diesmal hat Miu Miu schulmädchenhaften Falten Volumen verliehen und flauschiges Wildleder mit einem Kordelzug in der Taille verziert.
Reformierte Abercrombie-Kids auf der ganzen Welt werden die Auswahl an Poloshirts zu schätzen wissen, die authentisch über Hemden oder tief sitzenden Röcken und Hosen getragen werden – letztere wurden mit ultrabreiten Gürteln über dem Becken versehen (natürlich). Und was wäre eine Hommage an die frühen 2000er Jahre ohne bemerkenswert flache Gladiator-Sandalen, die einige Looks accessorisierten.

Es ist eine unterhaltsame und konsistente Kollektion, die sowohl auf der Straße als auch in Editorials viel Aufmerksamkeit erhalten wird – insbesondere, da es scheint, dass die gegenseitige Obsession von Generation Z und Alpha für alles, was mit dem Y2K zu tun hat, offensichtlich noch lange nicht nachlassen wird.
