Für eine Marke, die sich ausschließlich auf die Haarpflege konzentriert, hat Olaplex echt viel zu bieten. Das Label ist vor allem für seine revolutionäre Haarmaske (den reparierenden No. 3 Hair Perfector) bekannt – doch hat es inzwischen auch unter anderem ein Clarifying Shampoo, ein Silbershampoo, einen Treatment-Booster, eine Feuchtigkeitsmaske und sogar ein Trockenshampoo im Angebot. Der Neuzugang der Marke ist aber ein Produkt, von dem wir gar nicht glauben können, dass es so lange dauerte, bis Olaplex – immerhin bekannt für ihre haarschädenreparierenden Wirkstoffe! – es endlich auf den Markt brachte: einen Hitzeschutz.
Dieses Spray ist aber natürlich kein 08/15-Hitzeschutz, der deine Haare vor Hitzestyling schützen soll. Der neue Volumizing Blow Dry Mist verspricht gleichzeitig lockeres Volumen (in anderen Worten: luftigen Schwung ohne Lockenwickler) und Schutz vor Hitze sowie Luftfeuchtigkeit (das bedeutet: weniger Frizz). Im Idealfall sollst du dadurch keine weiteren Seren, Öle, Gele oder Cremes ins Haar geben müssen, um es zu bändigen. Gerade im Sommer hört sich das an wie ein Traum.

Weil wir mitten in der heißesten Phase des Sommers stecken, konnten es unsere Redakteurinnen gar nicht erwarten, das neue Föhnspray zu testen, um es mit anderen Olaplex-Produkten sowie anderen Hitzeschutzsprays zu vergleichen. Unsere Meinungen, sortiert nach Haartyp und -textur, haben wir dir hier aufgeschrieben.
Wenn du kurze, dicke Haare hast:
„Ich habe mir vor Kurzem meine Haare um einige Zentimeter kürzen lassen. Jetzt trage ich sie daher wie eine Art French Bob. Sie sind aus gutem Grund so kurz: Ich bin einfach zu faul, um sie groß zu stylen. Normalerweise verteile ich mir nach dem Haarewaschen einfach eine pflegende Creme in den Haaren und trockne sie dann bei mittlerer Hitze mit dem Föhn. Ich wünsche mir aber mehr Textur. Könnte dieses Spray meine Lösung sein? Es soll gleichzeitig vor Hitze schützen und Volumen verleihen. Also verteilte ich es in meinem handtuchtrockenen Haar und föhnte es wie sonst auch. Irgendwie dauerte das Föhnen nur halb so lang, und ich war überrascht, wie viel Volumen und Textur es meinem Haar verlieh. Gibt es sowas wie zu viel Volumen? Ich musste danach zwar meine Haare ein bisschen toupieren, aber das dauerte nur ein paar Sekunden. Wenn deine Haare nach dem Styling oft zu weich oder ‚rutschig‘ sind und in sich zusammenfallen, ist das das perfekte Produkt für dich. Mein Haar blieb fast acht Stunden lang in Form, und ich brauchte nicht mal Haarspray. Meine Spitzen fühlten sich allerdings ein bisschen trocken an – nächstes Mal benutze ich das Spray also zusammen mit einem feuchtigkeitsspendenden Serum oder einer Creme. Zum Glück ist die Luftfeuchtigkeit hier gerade gering, aber ich nehme das Spray auf jeden Fall in den Urlaub mit, um herauszufinden, wie gut es wirklich gegen Frizz hilft.“ – Jacqueline Kilikita, leitende Beauty-Redakteurin
Wenn du lange, dünne Haare hast:
“Nothing against Olaplex, but I don’t use the brand’s products. My hair is not colored and I only expose it to the heat of my Dyson Airwrap once or twice a week, so it’s not damaged. Furthermore, I’m skeptical of any product that could make my hair heavy and/or sticky – which often happens with bond builders like the Olaplex conditioner or mask. However, I really like this spray. It’s a great heat protectant: the lightweight spray reduces my blow-drying time and smells fresh, like laundry. Before I grab the hairdryer, I part my hair in the middle and distribute the spray thoroughly throughout my hair. After blow-drying, my hair feels bouncier at the ends and has more volume at the roots. Plus, it’s very soft. I don’t use any other product in my hair, and I like that it prevents frizz even in high humidity. Since I started using it, I’ve received several compliments about my hair – most frequently about how ‘healthy’ it looks. If you have Afro hair:
“I have tried many Olaplex products, but I’m not a hardcore fan. This is mainly because I have extremely thick hair with what feels like 19,000 different textures; so it’s always very difficult to gauge the effectiveness of a product. I don’t necessarily need a ‘volume’ spray (I already have enough of that), but I still really liked it as a blow-dry spray. It usually takes a whole 45 minutes for my hair to dry completely with my other products – but with this spray, I only needed about half that time. That’s amazing considering how much hair I have! After just 25 minutes, my whole head was blow-dried, my hair was smooth, and voluminous in a completely new way. I followed the instructions on the bottle exactly, and it worked very well for me.
